Neville was recently selected to have his artwork showcased at COLLECT, a major international art fair for contemporary objects, to be held at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London from the 12th to the 17th of Jan 2005. The exhibition was established by the British Crafts Council in 2004 to promote outstanding contemporary craft and design and involves invited international galleries showing selected artists work. Neville’s work will be exhibited alongside the work of Robin Best and Merran Esson, under the banner ‘Australian Contemporary’, with the curatorial theme ‘Perceptions of Antipodean Identity – A Survey of the Sense of Place.’

“Landscape, nature and identity are the themes explored by the three selected artists presented by Australian Contemporary at Collect 2005. The artists have been selected for the eloquence with which their ceramic work communicates an intimate sense of place in relation to aspects of Australian landscape, nature and identity by drawing on experience and observation. They all share a focus on explorations of the environment coupled with searches for central issues.”

Stephen Bowers
